Goodbye Freewebs!

Well, I don't know how to put this any other way. This site will no longer be up, I am shutting it down. It's been a fun experience playing around with this website and experimenting with this system (Freewebs/Webs) along with html/css/javascript coding, and I hope you, as the viewer of this website have enjoyed visiting. My time building this website has definitely been a bumpy road, but in all, I am happy I took up building this website, and it really took some major thinking on my part to come down with the final decision to shut down this website.
Now you may be thinking- because you sure look like a smart little pumpkin- why am I shutting down this website? Honestly, the answer to that question is I have better things to do- along with school to pile on that. It has been fun while it lasted, but I feel it is my time to leave Freewebs/Webs. Now also, you might be thinking "You said there would be so much cool stuff after you reopened after your site revamp! Have you completely forgot about your viewers?" My answer to that is this- as I said before it took a lot of thinking to come to this decision, and that was one of the many things I considered before I made my final decision. I apologize for this abrupt end, and also sorry for all the confusion there has been about this web site over the past few months. If you remember, I said I would reopen this website on October 31st, and I had a coutdown clock counting down to that day. Well, if you paid any attention at all, you would have realized that it was past Halloween, the countdown clock was at O:O:O:O (or something like that) and the website was still not up. This was because I was at the stage of trying to decide whether ore not to close this site or not. (I made the final decision on November 3, the one year anniversary of the opening of the site.)
Speaking of the opening of this site, I can still remember the day I made this site. One of the most asked question I have received was- "Why is your site called My Book Project" The answer to that question is that the day I created it was because I had to make a book project for school, and decided to try out Freewebs and make a website. Well, I decided not to use it for my Book Project, but I still had this site, and the name stuck. After that, I remember it evolved from nothing but a simple site with a load of random stuff. Then, it improved to be more flexible with viewers and met pretty much everyone's needs. I felt I had reached a point where I could happily sustain a moderate site. I also got a reasonable amount of viewers to boot. I was easily getting 40-50 hits with 35-45 uniques, and it was not just like they were visiting, signing the guestbook then leaving, which happens to be a very common occurrence, I've seen multiple sites shut down because of it (Wacky Way for one), but no, they actually cared about the content and thoroughly examined my site. I felt content with this and was certainly not complaining.
One of the major turning points in this sites history was the opening of the "Bestest Contest Ever'". It was really the first time this site really interacted with the community. The contest was a huge success and turned out to be one of the most popular contest in freewebs history. To be exact, to this day it is still the third largest contest in the history of the community. Sites from all genres entered, I even got two of my friends enter. (both lost in the frst round) Notale competitors included Unveiled, Crazy 2 Writ, vidsrus, Art Smart People, escMaac Software, blackfire, bmangaman, Michael worldwide, revealed, Online arcade, Matty D's, and Kindness not cruelty. The contest was a great success and what t came down to was a very exciting final round with the results being-
| Answer | Votes (1322) |
| 22 | 45% (589 votes) |
| 37 | 2% (32 votes) |
| 43 | 34% (443 votes) |
| 59 | 18% (234 votes) |
| 71 | 2% (24 votes) |
It was a very epic battle with thousands of votes and excitement continuously! I feel this contest was really the starting point for me and this site.
As write this final speech can only wonder-what are the lasting impressions my viewers/fans have on me? what will I be remembered for? Please, if you have any comments, please post them in the guestbook (which I left for you.) Finally, i feel itis time for me to move on, and as I hit the publish button one last time, I can only imagine all the great times I have had with this site.
Goodbye.
